I never understood this holiday.

When I lived in Illinois, we had a odd holiday that we always got out of school for: Casimir Pulaski Day. He was a Polish Revolutionary War hero. For those of you who are historically challenged, Illinois was not a state then - or even a territory. But we did have a huge Polish population floating around. I guess that explains. But the Honorable Mr. Pulaski is buried in Savannah. Maybe WE need to get the day off here, HUH?
