Fnally, the man who drew a blank when asked during the debates to name one mistake he'd made admits that there were some missteps in Iraq (you know, like planning). I've always felt that if this war had been better thought through, that it would have been much more stable, successful, and over by now. How in the world people could have thought that this was going to be a cakewalk is beyond me. Look at the history of the region - it'll tell you that something totally different would have happened.

More troops, and a little realism - that's all we needed. Bush could have gotten good PR out of this... if he had better advisors. Or, at the very least, took a lesson from his dad - this is probably the reason Bush Sr. didn't just finish the deal.
