Honestly, I don't know how much stock I place in this discussion. I'm still wondering what teams can afford what Kovy needs (or deserves), and I don't think that Vancouver is one of them. It's still December. We have three and a half months before the trade deadline, and a little under a month until Casino Night. Waddell likes to make big announcements then, and I'm fairly sure that he can keep things under wraps until then.
And anyway, Vancouver's scouts haven't parked themselves in the pressbox at all recently. Nashville's has, but I'm really doubting it has a thing to do with Kovy.

For Vancouver to acquire Ilya, they'd have to give up one of the Sedins...
Exactly, and that was my issue with the 'Nucks - the WonderTwins' contracts are sizeable and so is Luongo's. For next season, they're at $16,998,334 towards the cap. They'd have to unload a few people, and I can't see anyone that they really could drop without it hurting the team.
