As X mentioned a few months ago, there are passengers on this team and there are conductors. We have a passenger overboard.
Jason Williams has been moved to Columbus for a 6th round pick and a D man, Clay Wilson, who will be going to Chicago to shore up the Wolves' injured defense. Why two things that don't help us right now? Well, we get rid of Williams' $2.2 million dollar salary that we were giving him to stand there. Also, Schneider and Havelid are UFAs this year and will probably be moved at the trade deadline for pieces of our never ending rebuilding process, AKA the New Five Year Plan. This means that Boris and Oyster stay up with us, so the Wolves need some new guys. It works out in the end.
Williams had this to say:
“It’s just one of those things,” Williams said. “He’s a very skilled guy, plays a lot of minutes. Sometimes he tries to do things on his own. He’s got the skill and the talent to do that. For some reason, him and I playing together didn’t click. There’s still a lot of guys in that dressing room that he’ll have fun playing with and hopefully they can make it click. If he has someone to get him that puck, he’s going to score a lot of goals.
“For both organizations, I think it’s better.”
Yep... couldn't have said it better myself. Best of luck to you with the CBJ, Williams.
BTW, we lost 3-2 last night despite playing an excellent game. Some people need to get their head on the ice and out of the clouds if we're going to succeed.
