Blues News.

Lest you think I'm only doing Thrashers stuff today, a few Blues happenings out there.

First off, Erik Johnson's practicing with Al MacInnis... he should be good to go by camp. NO MORE GOLF. Please. I still tear up thinking up about this season and what he could have brought to it... of course, considering what the Blues did anyway, I think we managed.

According to the Blues' official website, we've re-signed Jay McClement to a contract, terms to be mentioned later. That's one of the bigger FA signings... now to tie up Walt and Polak. Crombeen and Woywitkia are some RFAs we also need to get (so's Polak)... Hinote is a UFA who probably isn't a priority.

Finally, in sad news, former Blue Peter Zezel is to be taken off life support today, CTV confirms. He suffers from the rare blood disorder hemolytic anemia, and developed complications after surgery last week. He was a member of the St. Louis Blues from the mid-point of the 1988-1989 season until a trade to the Caps in 1990 for Geoff Courtnall, and returned in 1995-1996.

Thank you, Peter.
