Redemption.

No, not really for the team, but for the marketing department. After impressing us with a cardboard theme (are they implying that we're going to move or something, or just need to put stuff in storage?), they put together this pretty sweet opening night video.

Nice... even though I have no idea what the Hockey Way is, but apparently we didn't follow it for a good chunk of last season. We kind of followed the "Flailing Around the Ice" Way. I really don't think it'll start that way this year. Of course, who knows, since we don't have a legit #1 goalie yet again (see how I worked that in?). I also liked how they worked Kovalchuk into the logo, because, you know, why not have someone you're not going to re-sign and that you're going to trade to Boston in some magical, mythical trade that exists in a land where there is no salary cap? Make sense to me. /sarc

He's staying, people. Cope with it. He wants to play here, he said it again today during the golf tourney, and will say it in every interview until hockey vultures stop having to ask it.

That's actually a damn good video.

Just between you and me, I think we're going to hear concrete news of his (Kovalchuk's, that is) re-signing very, very soon.

Totally agree. He's been waaay too positive recently in interviews, and just when people've asked him simple questions. He doesn't have the attitude of someone who wants to leave. I have no clue where people get that idea from.

Frankly, I'm looking forward to the Face-Off event tomorrow night. DW usually has a way of announcing big stuff at events like this. Sometimes, his coyness serves him well.

Other times, like with the Manny situation, it just pisses me off.
